Breaking News: Monster High's first official Game app

Fans of Mattel’s Monster High dolls now have a new way to interact with their favorite friends, which were inspired by monster movies and historical figures. Monster High: Ghouls and Jewels is now available on iOS, and takes players to Monster High as the new ghoul in school.
Developed by BluBox Games, Ghouls and Jewels is a match-three puzzle game which focuses just as much on scarily fantastic fashion as it does on completing levels.
In each of the game’s 100+ levels, players are asked to swap symbols to make matches of three or more. When creating special matches, like those in T or L shapes, players activate boosters on the board. Some may clear symbols in a diagonal line, while others detonate to clear a square section of symbols from the board.
SS01_iP5_ENGAfter each stage, players are given a star rating relating to their points total on the level. Players can replay stages to increase their high scores and earn more stars, as well as coins, which appear on random symbols on the board.
While free to earn, these coins are relatively rare, and are spent on new clothing items in the game’s “Maul” store. Depending on the clothing item, these can add bonuses to a level’s final score.
Elsewhere, players can purchase pets for power-ups during levels. One pet may clear any symbol chosen by the player, while another allows for swapping any two pieces on the board, even if the move doesn’t result in a match.
“Monster High has a wide variety of ways for fans to interact with its characters, but Mattel came to us because they wanted a mobile game experience different from anything else currently out there,” said Philippe Erwin, CEO of BluBox Games.
“We’ve merged the brand’s unique twist with familiar match-three gameplay in Ghouls and Jewels, and think the result will not only entertain current fans, but expand the Monster High consumer base to completely new audiences.”
Monster High: Ghouls and Jewels is available to download for free on iOS, and is coming soon to Android devices. The game is scheduled for future monthly updates, and rewards players each day for returning to the game.
